Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media analyst for more than twenty years. She's also a seasoned public speaker. Feminist Frequency is a channel that hosts videos, commentaries and analysis of how popular culture depicts women. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning Canadian-American feminist media critic as well as blogger. Feminist Frequency is an educational non-profit website that investigates representations of women in popular culture narratives. As well as working to bring awareness to the harassment and targeted assaults on women and as well as other minorities, she is determined to break down stereotypes that are in the popular culture. Sarkeesian holds a bachelor's degree in political thought and social theory at York University. She is also a highly-respected public speaker. Sarkeesian has given speeches at the TEDxWomen XOXO Festival and United Nations Broadband Working Group. Feminist Frequency was launched on the 9th of September 2009 by Sarkeesian. a University student who has been interested in issues concerning gender and feminism since a long time. An ambitious woman who wanted to launch a web-series that would examine the representation of gender in video games was targeted in an online campaign. The incident did not deter her from pursuing the project, and instead it bolstered her resolve as a feminist critic of media. Numerous awards have been given to her for her contributions to the field she have made. Anita Sarkeesian has been a journalist for a long time and is the founder of Feminist Frequency. The educational nonprofit explores women's representations in pop culture narratives.
