
Pichai Sundararajan better known as Sundar Picha, is an Indian-American business executive. He is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Alphabet Inc. and its subsidiary Google.Born in Madurai in India, Pichai obtained his degree at IIT Kharagpur in metallurgical engineering. He graduated with an M.S. in the United States after moving to the United States. from Stanford University in materials science and engineering . He also earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and was named a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar, respectively.Pchai began his career as a materials engineer. After a brief period at the management consultancy firm McKinsey and Co., Pichai joined Google in 2004 and was in charge of the product management and development efforts for a variety of Google's client-facing software which included Google Chrome as well as ChromeOS, as well as being largely responsible for Google Drive. Pichai also oversaw the creation of Google Maps, Gmail, and other apps. In the year 2010, Pichai also made public the open-sourcing announcement of the new codec for video VP8 developed by Google and introduced the new format for video, WebM. The Chromebook was launched in 2012. In 2013, Pichai added Android to the catalog of Google products he oversees.
