Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez (born Rosa Maria Perez on September 6, 1964) is an American actress, choreographer, dancer, and activist. Her biggest breakthrough came from Tina's part in Do the Right Thing (1989), then followed closely by White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Fearless (1993). Perez's starring roles in movies include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado(2000), Pineapple Express (2007) as well as Birds of Prey (2018). She also won three Primetime Emmy Award nominations (in 1990, 1994 and) in addition to another Emmy nomination (2020-present) for her role as the Flight Attendant. She has been in Broadway stage plays like The Ritz and Frankie, Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. She also hosted The View's 18th season on ABC's talk show The View. She was a student at Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood. By 1999 her mother lived in poverty, in the Woodside Houses, when she passed away due to AIDS-related issues.
